On Tuesday, October 10, 2006, over 500 people gathered at the stunning downtown studio of Rafael Viñoly Architects for Considered Space 5, the Design Trust's annual art auction and cocktail party. The event featured both a live and silent auction of artworks from emerging and established artists and designers, and was our most successful to date!

The event brought together a vibrant crowd of professionals in design, architecture, the arts, publishing and real estate, and also attracted many up and coming designers and artists. Event Chair Kitty Hawks, and Founder and Board President Andrea Woodner were on hand to welcome the crowd.

Among those in attendance were: Cindy Allen, Editor-in-Chief of Interior Design magazine; Kent Barwick, President of the Municipal Art Society; Adrian Benepe, NYC Parks Commissioner; Holly Block, Executive Director of the Bronx Museum of the Arts; Mary Ceruti, Executive Director of the SculptureCenter; Matthew Daus, Commissioner of the Taxi & Limousine Commission.
Thanks to the generosity of the New York art community, there was an overwhelming amount of incredible artwork up for auction. The exciting live auction featured an exclusive personalized portrait by renowned photographer William Wegman.

The Design Trust is grateful to all those who supported the event, who make our programs possible. Special thanks to Kitty Hawks, Event Chair; event sponsors Interior Design, Lawrence Lederman, Maharam, Zack McKown & Calvin Tsao, and Peter Stevens; James Zemaitis, our enthusiastic auctioneer; as well as to all the benefit leadership and donating artists, without whom the event would not have been possible.
