Rachel Abrams is a writer and designer. As Creative Director at Turnstone Consulting LLC, she designs people-friendly, technology-mediated experiences for commercial spaces and public places. Having worked at Imagination (USA) Inc. on client projects for Samsung, Intel and others, her collaboration with Imagination continues for Taxi 07. Previously, she worked for IBM, defining design/technology standards for ibm.com, and at Nokia, making interface design recommendations for cell-phones.

Originally, current affairs and political research led her to interaction design. Her concepts for Beacon, an urban cell-phone service for people with restricted mobility, and for Hailstone, a loyalty program for New York cabs, have met critical acclaim. She writes about the social implications of design and technology and has been published in print and online by The Economist, Adobe, BBC, eDesign, Frieze, Graphics International, and others.

Ms. Abrams graduated in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University and has an MA in Computer Related Design from the Royal College of Art, UK. She has lived in New York since 2000. She received a Design Trust fellowship for Taxi 07.
