Personal Statement

My Design Trust fellowship enabled me to understand the value of open space in community development – a value that goes beyond its use for recreation and greenery. Well designed housing creates beautiful neighborhoods. Public open space transforms neighborhoods into communities. Public open space is a vital component in the continuing evolution of democracy in our country.
